Exploring the Wonders of Kerala: A Month-Long Trip to God's Own Country

Introduction:

In June 2022, I embarked on a month-long trip to Kerala with my loved ones, eager to explore the beauty of this south Indian state. We stayed in Muvattupuzha Block in the Ernakulam district, and from there, we set out on a journey to discover the many wonders of Kerala. From the breathtaking architecture of its houses and churches to the serene backwaters and the lush hill stations, Kerala is truly a paradise for travelers. In this blog, I'll be sharing my experiences and recommendations for anyone planning a trip to Kerala.






 


The Rich Cultural Heritage:

One of the highlights of our trip was exploring the many prominent churches in Kerala. The architecture and design of these churches are truly wonders to behold, and they serve as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the region. St. Francis Church in Kochi, one of the oldest European churches in India, was particularly impressive. The intricate carvings and stained-glass windows were breathtaking, and we were amazed by the attention to detail that went into the construction of the church.

 


Backwaters and Houseboats:

No trip to Kerala is complete without a visit to the backwaters. We were fortunate enough to experience the serene backwaters of Ernakulam, which provided a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We also had the opportunity to stay in a traditional houseboat, which was a unique and unforgettable experience. The houseboat was equipped with all the modern amenities, including air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and we enjoyed the stunning views of the backwaters while being served delicious Kerala-style cuisine.

 

Hill Stations and Nature:

We also visited the beautiful hill station of Vagamon, which is located about 100 kilometers from Muvattupuzha Block. The lush greenery, misty mountains, and tranquil atmosphere made Vagamon an ideal place to unwind and reconnect with nature. We hiked through the hills and valleys, admiring the beautiful scenery and breathing in the fresh mountain air. We also visited the tea plantations in the area and learned about the history of tea cultivation in Kerala.

 


Conclusion:

My month-long trip to Kerala was an eye-opening experience that left a lasting impression on me. The state's rich cultural heritage, stunning architecture, and natural beauty make it a must-visit destination for travelers. Whether you're interested in exploring the backwaters, soaking up the sun on the beaches, or immersing yourself in the local culture, Kerala has something to offer for everyone. I highly recommend adding Kerala to your travel bucket list and experiencing the wonders of God's Own Country for yourself.

Meat and Eat Restaurant: A Tasty Experience with One Regret

  I recently visited Meat and Eat Restaurant with my friends for a fun night out. We were excited to try out their menu and see what this family restaurant had to offer. After some discussion, we decided to order some cheesy french fries, chicken nuggets, a chicken piece, and an apple mojito. The restaurant staff was courteous and took our order promptly. We were eagerly waiting for our food to arrive. When the food arrived, we were all delighted to dig in. The chicken nuggets and chicken piece were cooked to perfection, and the apple mojito was refreshing and delicious. However, when it came to the cheesy fries, we were left with mixed feelings. We had never tried cheesy fries before, but the picture on the menu looked tempting, and we decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, the taste of the cheesy fries was not up to our expectations. We found it to be too salty and the cheese didn't taste quite right. It was a bit of a letdown, but we didn't let it ruin our experience.
