Celebrating Ethinc Day and Gastronomia in Saint Claret College
On the 22nd of April, Saint Claret College Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, celebrated Ethnic Day and Gastronomia, a day to showcase and celebrate the diverse cultures of the students and teachers to the college. The day was bright and festive, with all the students wearing different traditional attires from their perspective tribes and cultures.
The program started at around 10am, with students from different tribes performing traditional and folk dances and singing different folk songs. The performances were breathtaking, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the different cultures represented in the college. It was also the very first time the college had organized Ethnic Day and Gastronomia, and it was a resounding success.
The atmosphere was electric, with not only students and teachers from the college attending but also people from outside, as many students brought their parents and friends. The college campus was transformed into a colorful and vibrant arena, with traditional decorations, music and dance performances.
One of the highlights of the day was the ramp walk, where two students from each tribe represented and showed off their beautiful traditional attire. It was amazing to see the different styles, designs, and fabrics used in the attires, and how they reflected the unique culture and traditions of each tribe.
After the performances, we moved on to the food stalls, where students from different tribes opened their own stalls to shocase and sell tradional cuisines. It was very intresting to see the different types of dishes, flavors, and ingredients used in the cuisines. I had the oppotunity to taste a lot of different traditional cuisines, including our own Naga pork and aroemba, it was worth the money.
The day was not just about showcasing the different cultures but also about coming together and celebrating diversity. We danced, laughed, and had a lot of fun together, students and teachers alike. It was an oppotunity to learn from each other, appreciate each other's cultures, and celebrate our differences.
In conclusion, Ethnic Day and Gastronomia was an insightful and intresting day that gave us the opportunity to witness the diverse culture of Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring states. It was a celebration of our unique identities, traditions, and cultures and a reminder that diversity is what makes us stronger and more vibrant as a community. I look forward to more such celebrations in the future.
