Chasing Snails in Arunachal Pradesh

As a college student pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, I am always up for new adventures and experiences. One day, right after our classes at Saint Claret College in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, my friends and I decided to go through Hija Village on our scotties. Little did we know that this trip would turn into a memorable snail hunting expedition!

As we were passing through the village, we noticed snails in the fields beside the road. Intrigued, I asked my friends if they ate snails, and to my surprise, they said they did and liked them. This sparked an idea, and we made plans to collect snails when we were all free.

Days went by, and after our second sessional test in April, we set our plan in motion. The day was hot and sunny, but we were determined to collect as many snails as possible. We headed to siibey village in Hapoli, armed with four polyethene bags, ready for some snail hunting. The process of collecting snails was not only exciting but also amusing, as we chatted and enjoyed each other's company, reminiscing about our memories of eating snails in the past.

After several hours of collecting , we had four full bags of snails. We were thrilled with our bounty and couldn't wait to cook them up and try them out. We brought it back at my friend's house and washed them before placing them in a big pot to allow them to digest and make it easier for us to clean later. The anticipation grew as we waited for two days, eager to finally cook and taste our delicious catch. When the time came, we carefully peeled off the snail shells and took out the visceral sac to fry and eat. The process was time-consuming, but the end result was worth it. We savored the taste of the snails, enjoying the unique flavor and texture.

Apart from the delicious meal, the entire experience was filled with laughter, companionship, and making memories that will last a lifetime. It was a reminder of the joys of simple pleasures and the beauty of spontaneous adventures with good friends. As a young adult, I realize the importance of cherishing such moments and creating meaningful memories that will be cherished for years to come. I look forward to many more adventures and making beautiful memories in the future.

So to all my fellow young adventurers out there, don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, try something new, and create unforgettable memories. After all, life is all about the moments we make, and there's no better time than now to start creating your own stories to share and cherish in the years to come! Happy hunting!
